Liverpool Defeat Burnley To Reclaim Top Spot

Liverpool are back on top of the Premier League table following a 3-1 win against Burnley at Anfield on Saturday.

The Reds, now on 54 points, go two points clear of Manchester City who have played a game less.

Jurgen Klopp’s men went into the game second on the log following Manchester City’s 2-0 win against Everton in the early kickoff.

Diogo Jota opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 31st minute but Burnley equalized on the stroke of halftime.

In the 52nd minute, Luis Diaz made it 2-1 before Darwin Nunez added the third on 79 minutes.

In North London, Tottenham Hotspur sealed a 2-1 comeback win against Brighton to keep their title hopes alive.

Brighton went 1-0 up thanks to a 17th minute strike by Pascal Grob.

Spurs were back on level terms as Pape Sarr made it 1-1 in the 61st minute before Brennan Johnson netted a 97th minute winner.

The win took Spurs up to fourth place on 47 points and seven points behind leaders Liverpool.

Other results saw Fulham beat Bournemouth 3-2, Sheffield United defeated Luton 3-1 away, and Brentford beat Wolves 2-0.
