Spurs Suffer Setback In UCL Qualification Hopes After 2-0 Defeat At Chelsea

Goals from Trevoh Chalobah and Nicolas Jackson secured a 2-0 win for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in Thursday’s Premier League.

The defeat is a setback for Spurs who are eyeing Champions League qualification.

Ante Postecoglou’s side was hoping to bounce back from their 3-2 home loss to north London rivals Arsenal at the weekend.

Following the defeat Chelsea, Spurs remain in fifth place on 60 points, seven points behind Aston Villa who are fourth on the log.

For Chelsea, the win took them up to eight position on 51 points.

The Blues have now done the double over Spurs this season.

Chalobah gave Chelsea the lead in the 24th minute as he expertly headed in from Conor Gallagher’s free-kick.

In the 72nd minute Jackson made it 2-0 with a header, after reacting quickest to Cole Palmer’s fierce free-kick which struck Guglielmo Vicario’s crossbar.
