Thiago Silva announces his move to Fluminense

Thiago Silva, a defender for Chelsea, has announced the club he will be playing for next season after his contract with the Blues expires.

The Brazilian international shared a picture of himself wearing the jersey of his childhood club, Fluminense, which is based in Brazil. He has signed a two-year deal with the current Copa Libertadores champions, which will keep him at the club until 2026.

Silva previously played for Fluminense between 2006 and 2008 before leaving for AC Milan in 2009. He then joined Paris Saint-Germain three years later. Silva has confirmed that he will leave Chelsea after spending four years with the London club.

He joined the Blues on a free transfer in August 2020 and during his time at the club, he won the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup. He is also a two-time winner of international tournaments, having won the 2013 Confederations Cup and the 2019 Copa America.
