Super Eagles of Nigeria reportedly suffer another major injury blow ahead of AFCON 2023

According to fresh reports, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have suffered another major injury blow that will see the player miss out on all fixtures in AFCON 2023.

Complete Sports and other news outlets report that Bayern Leverkusen's top star and the German Bundesliga rookie of the month nominee Victor Boniface might not be available for the Super Eagles of Nigeria at AFCON 2023 which will be held in Ivory Coast due to a muscle injury.

The 23-year-old forward has not been available for selection for Nigeria in their last two friendly fixtures against Al Gharib and Guinea in preparation for AFCON 2023. It was reported that Victor Boniface picked up the injury in training with the squad. Fans are panicking however as the Super Eagles initially lost Wilfred Ndidi due to injury with Kelechi Iheanacho still struggling with match fitness.

There has been no confirmation from the Eagles camp but many are hopeful that the injury would not play a huge role in derailing the plans of the coach ahead of AFCON 2023.
