Super Eagles forward player, Victor Osimhen has been reportedly shortlisted as one of the players who would lead the frontline for Paris Saint Germain as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe.

The Nigerian was recently named the best player on the continent of Africa following his impressive run for Napoli during the 2022/23 football season. He was a key part of Napoli winning the Serie A title for the first time in 33 years.

Osimhen has shown in his previous club ( Lille) that he is capable of scoring goals no matter where he finds himself. He scored 18 goals in his sole campaign at Lille before joining Napoli for a club-record fee of €70million.

The Athletic confirmed that Luis Campos, who works as a football advisor at PSG with a role in the club’s transfer recruitment, played a key role in ensuring that Osimhen signed for Lille. The Nigerian international had been initially linked with a move to Chelsea Football Club as the Blues are in desperate need of a striker going into next season (2024/25).

The decision was taken after Mbappe told the President of PSG that he will leave the club at the end of this season when his current contract expires on June 30, 2024.
