Premier League announce player of the month for December 2023

The Premier League have announced Bournemouth's forward player, Dominic Solanke as the winner of the December 2023 player of the month award.

The 26-year-old won the award after scoring six goals in the league in December which took him two goals behind Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah in the race to be this season's highest goal scorer. He scored in a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa, also recorded his first career hat-trick in a 3-2 turnaround win at Nottingham Forest, and scored in 3-0 victories over both Manchester United and Fulham.

Solanke's form helped Bournemouth win four and draw one of their six December matches to move within three points of the top half of the table. He is only the fourth Bournemouth player or manager to win a Premier League monthly award.

Eddie Howe won the barclays manager of the month three times between 2017 and 2018, while Charlie Daniels and Jermain Defoe won the goal of the Month prize in August and December 2017 respectively.
