The Ondo State government has promised to improve the welfare of players and the backroom staff of Sunshine Stars to enhance productivity.
The State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, made the promise during a meeting with the team on Tuesday.
Yusuf-Ogunleye stated that it became important to meet with the team and address challenges, as well as offer immediate solutions towards getting desired results.
He cautioned the team against complacency in their remaining fixtures this season.
“Indiscipline in different spheres brought us to this level, and despite having some quality players in our team, an end has come to that,” he stated.
“The team challenges will be addressed and those acts of insubordination and indiscipline will be a thing of the past. Moreso, let me quickly inform you all that I will increase your match bonus. Your feeding allowance will also be increased and other entitlements will improve.”
Sunshine Stars are currently hovering in the relegation zone.
