Bauchi State Government, Bala Mohammed has ordered the immediate payment of outstanding student’s scholarship to indigenous students, saying all pending scholarship awards would be settled before the end of this month.

Governor Bala Mohammed gave the order while addressing leadership and members of National Union of Bauchi State Students NUBASS who went to congratulate him over his victory at the Supreme Court.

Bala noted that he granted approval for the disbursement of the scholarship wonder why some of the students are yet to receive their entitlement.

Represented by Secretary to the State Government Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, Governor Bala Mohammed assured to direct relevant stakeholders including the commissioner of Education and the Treasury office to investigate the reason for the delay in the process with a view to address the pending issues.

While appreciating the students for the solidarity visit, the Governor also pledged more commitment to the welfare of the students.

Speaking on behalf of the students, the NUBASS National President Comrade Adam Muhammad Tukur congratulated the Governor for the victory and emphasized the need for the state government to consider the plight of the affected students.

According to him about 30% of the students studying within and outside the state are yet to receive the scholarship despite the Governor’s approval, but assured the support of all the Indigenous students to Governor Bala Mohammed led administration to succeed.
