Atalanta manager, Gian Piero Gasperini has kind words for Ademola Lookman after he put up another impressive performance against Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday night.

La Dea held their hosts to a 1-1 draw in the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 second leg tie in Lisbon.

The Serie A club were unlucky not to win the game hitting the crossbar three times.

Gasperini was delighted with Lookman’s performance in the keenly contested fixture.

“He (Lookman) wasn’t playing centrally, he scored six or seven goals and was much more on the wing. Now he’s become someone who comes into play in the last twenty meters and is always able to create danger.

“He’s quick and fast, he shots very well and also well-timed headers. Every now and then I push him to become a more complete player, he has the physical ability to do so, sometimes he hides a little but he can be more of a reference point, especially this year.”

The 26-year-old is yet to score in Europe this season.

The Nigeria international has however registered eight goals and three assists in 21 league appearances for the club.
