Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani has stormed the Federal Ministry of Works in Abuja, demanding urgent action to address the deplorable state of federal roads in the state.

Governor Sani, who was visibly upset, met with the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi to express his dissatisfaction with the condition of the roads, which he described as “a nightmare” for commuters and a hindrance to economic development.

The governor particularly lamented the state of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway, which he said had become a death trap due to its poor condition.

“I have come to demand that something be done urgently to address the deplorable state of federal roads in Kaduna State.
“The people of Kaduna are suffering, and it is our responsibility as leaders to ensure that we provide them with the necessary infrastructure to improve their lives,” the governor said.

Engr. Umahi, who acknowledged the poor state of the roads, assured Governor Sani that the Ministry was working to address the issue.

“We understand the concerns of the Governor and the people of Kaduna State.

“We are working to ensure that the necessary funds are allocated to fix the roads and improve the transportation network in the state,” the minister said

Governor Sani’s visit to the Ministry of Works is seen as a sign of his commitment to addressing the infrastructure challenges facing Kaduna State.

It would be recalled that a few months ago, the governor had also visited the office of Minister Finance and engaged him on access to financial opportunities coordinated by the ministry, for the beneficiaries from Kaduna State.
