The Association of Movie Producers of Nigeria, AMP, has vowed to soften the process through which new movie stars are born by going into partnership with organisations such as the Centre for Strategic Enterprise Development, CSED, among others, to institute the New Generation Nollywood Producers Prize.
Under the initiative, seasoned Nollywood veterans such as Zeb Ejiro, Lilian Amah-Aluko, Paul Obazele, Ego Boyo, and Ruth Kadiri have dedicated themselves to providing training to aspiring producers from all 36 Nigerian states and the Federal Capital Territory for six months.
They will build and empower young women and men across Nigeria to become key players in the country’s film, television, and reality show production industries.
Apart from the training, according to AMP, the young Nigerians will be provided cash prizes and valuable industry connections to enable them to kick-start their careers and contribute to job creation and poverty reduction within their communities.
Dr Queen Blessing Ebigieson, the national president of the AMP, said the initiative is “a crucial gateway for young people to enter the film and media landscape.”
